Fundraising has begun for the Seventh Street Corridor mural project. Go Oak Cliff has collaborated with local artists, Kevin Obregon and Steve Cruz, to coordinate the installation of eleven murals. We’re needing to raise $25,000 to complete the project, so every little bit helps. The Second Annual Oak Cliff Art Crawl has officially been announced! This year, the effort is lead by Go Oak Cliff, and will feature a host of events all connected by the Seventh Street corridor on April 10th and 11th. Events will include an uveiling of the Seventh Street mural project, “The Perfect Block” Art Installation at Seventh and Tyler, the Urban Bazaar in Bishop Arts, music at the new Kessler Theatre, an outdoor art gallery at Nova, presentations at the Turner House, Bolsa’s outdoor market, and more!

Photopol.us and Bike Friendly Oak Cliff Invite You to Attend the 1st Annual Oak Cliff Art Crawl

On April 25, 2009, Several Art Galleries and Artist studios will open their doors for receptions and festivities in Oak Cliff. You are invited to visit each destination at your own pace between the hours of 4pm – 9pm. Artworks of all mediums will be on display.
The event is free and a map of destinations will be provided at each venue. Participating galleries include Cube Creative – a brand new gallery on Tyler St., Ice House Cultural Center, Soda Gallery, Decorazon, Texas Theater, 9th Street Town Homes, Bishop Arts Studio Co-op, Mighty Fine Arts and more!

A few of the things you can expect at this fun filled art crawl are live bands, free refreshments and beverages, a unique art experience at each venue (including a Beatles themed reception), a large group of bicyclists visiting each location, and of course, quality art available for purchase.
